\n\u201cAt APPLY, we follow many industry events and technology developments, but SPIE Defense + Security clearly stood out. The direction is clear – the defense industry is moving toward multi-domain operations, where the real challenge is combining data from different sensors into one understandable and actionable network.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event strongly reflected the current geopolitical and technological landscape, with four areas standing out: directed energy technologies and photonic integrated circuits, AI and autonomy in sensor systems, quantum technologies for navigation and secure communication, and hyperspectral and multispectral imaging for both defense and commercial use.<\/p>\n

The exhibition also highlighted strong developments in SWIR cameras and sensors, as well as the hybridization of lidar and radar systems for better situational awareness.<\/p>\n

As part of the same US tech tour, Andis also attended the \u201cIntroduction to Radar Systems\u201d course in Maryland and visited Ready Optics in Idaho, gaining broader insight into perception technologies, optical validation, and imaging performance beyond traditional camera-based computer vision.<\/p>\n
