In collaboration with radiologists Kārlis Kupčs and Andris Weiss, industrial research and experimental development currently are underway to develop a prototype of an ischemic stroke screening system, creating opportunities for neural network technology to identify acute ischemic cerebral stroke in native computed tomography images.
In the first quarter of the project, a marking tool for the classification of visual medical data (computed tomography images) classification areas was developed, which provides the possibility to mark the locations of both acute and historical ischemic strokes, as well as various areas of the brain such as 'abdominal cerebral palsy' and other anomalies. In the 2nd quarter of the project, the data described by medical experts were analysed from the point of view of computer vision, and the best methods for preparing medical data for the operation of computer vision and machine learning algorithms were studied.
The project “Radiological evaluation of native computed tomography images in patients with acute ischemic stroke in the anterior cerebral circulation - technology development and integration in the image evaluation process using a neural network”
SIA “ACCESS AV” and “APPLY” implement research project operational programs “Growth and Employment” under the specific measure "Increase private sector investment in R&D" at the matter of "Support for product and technology development within centres of excellence".
